1. First, tell me a little about LulaRoe…

LuLaRoe started in 2014 and is founded by DeAnne Stidham. She had a dream to be a “stay-at-home” mom AND provide for her family. Her dream became LuLaRoe. A clothing line that focuses on comfort, affordability, and style. What makes them unique? You can’t just go to a store and shop, it is sold only by consultants. In addition, each unique design is printed on fabrics and then sewn into only 5000 pieces. Those pieces are then split between sizes and styles, and then distributed between 70k consultants – making that piece a unique one-of-a-kind!

2. What made you decide to become a consultant?

My first piece of LuLaRoe wasn’t the leggings. It was the Cassie pencil skirt. And I fell in love. It was the first skirt I had tried on in a long time that made me feel sexy and confident. I knew I had to bring that feeling to others.

3. How do you sell LulaRoe?

LuLaRoe is sold on Facebook and in-home parties called “pop-ups”. Consultants have private Facebook groups where they sell via album sales and post all of their inventory or live videos. At in-home pop-up’s there is typically a hostess that invites all of her friends and family. They come and shop and she gets rewards for hosting! Best of all there isn’t any ordering or waiting. You try it on – you love it – you take it home!

4. How has running your own business changed your life?

It has definitely been a learning experience and lot of hard work! It has made me put myself out there – sharing myself in ways that maybe I wasn’t necessarily comfortable with.  But it has connected me to so many women across the states and I’ve built amazing relationships based on this awesome clothing line.

Tell me a little about your typical day..

On sale days, it’s loading all your inventory into albums, engaging with your customers, invoicing, answering any questions about sizing, fabrics or colors, preparing items to be shipped, shipping items, and brainstorming/researching ways to keep the group engaged. During pop-ups it’s a total different ball game! I am packing everything up and heading out to my clients location, setting everything up, and helping people find the right style and colors.. oh and having fun!

If someone was interested in becoming a consultant, what would they need to do? 

They would need to definitely talk with another consultant and find one that can be their sponsor, someone who can support and help them along the way.

Where do you see the direction of the business going in the next year or so? 

LulaRoe became super popular in a short amount of time and as they continue to grow they are only going to get better! The company is set to have 5 new styles this year which is super exciting!
